Anxiety, emotional and behavioral difficulties, low self-esteem, difficulties in relationships with peers or family, learning and school burdens, and recurring distress.
Children up to approximately 6–7 years of age participate less easily in psychotherapy because of smaller language skills, the ability to understand inner experience, and time orientation. With younger children I use play, drawing, puppets, stories, and creative methods that help children express what they cannot yet put into words. I encourage the child to express their feelings through writing, creating, movement, and role play and to experience relief in doing so. Collaboration with parents is highly recommended, as younger children cannot yet participate independently in the therapeutic process. As a rule the child is alone at the session, though parents are occasionally included as well.
Adolescents can already participate in the therapeutic process almost entirely independently, though collaboration with parents is still recommended (if adolescents wish it). Depending on age and the type of difficulty, therapeutic techniques are adapted. With an emphasis on present experience, feelings, and bodily sensations, I encourage adolescents to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. Through dialogue, experimentation, and creative techniques I help them develop greater self-awareness.

In the first session, we clarify what support you need most right now.

The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still being accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help.
The first step is not a commitment to long-term therapy - it is simply a space to ask questions and orient yourself.
